A couple days ago we celebrated my 28th birthday. I was spoiled with breakfast in bed, my little girl took a 3 hour nap, so I took a 2 hour nap and I am getting a sewing machine once I figure out what one I want. Two wonderful things happened on my birthday. My husband made me a cake, it was so fun. He didn't want me to know about it or see it until it was done. The picture above is the cake that he made. It looked so cute and it tasted really good.
The other good thing was that we went to lunch at Tucano's thanks to a gift certificate from my in-laws. While we were there Alyssa was very interested in the food that we were eating and so we gave her some water from my cup and she was so cute drinking it and spilling it everywhere. So we decided to use the straw to drop the water in her mouth but once she learned that the straw was the source of food she wanted it. She grabbed it and tried to put the straw in her mouth. We saved it just before she hurt herself with it but that was a good indication that she might be ready for solid food. So that night we went to the store and got some rice cereal and yesterday she tried some for the first time. She was a little unsure of it at first but she got used to it. Here is her messy little self!!
