Trip to McCall

Eric had the last couple days off work again, which we love, and we decided to take a last minute trip to McCall Idaho. It is about 2.5 hours north of us. Neither of us had been there before and we had heard good things about it. We stayed at a really nice bed and breakfast called the Meadowwood Lodge B&B.
Once we got settled into the B&B we set out to find something to do. (Note to self: plan activities before booking a hotel) For some reason not many of the stores were open, none of the activities we thought we could do were available and so we spent the first day walking around the town and getting to know the place - we wanted to rent a jet ski or boat or something, go on a helicopter ride or just do something.

So we walked down to the edge of the Payette Lake. It was gorgeous. Alyssa didn't like putting her feet in the water. It was a really nice day. Alyssa hadn't had a good nap and so she was a little grumpy.

After a while of searching and making phone calls, we found a deer farm that we decided to check out. It was an older couple who had raised and harvested deer for the past 10 years. They took us on a tractor ride through the farm. They also had a bunch of chickens, a couple cats, and two gorgeous dogs who followed us through the farm.

Lucy was a border collie who made Alyssa laugh throughout the whole trip. She jumped up on us and ran around the truck. It was so cute.

We all took a turn or two at feeding the buck's. It was really cool. The owner allowed us to also touch the velvet antlers (sp??) They felt so soft.

After a good nights sleep we decided to go and visit the Ponderosa State Park. Eric rented a mountain bike and Alyssa and I hiked a little bit (Note to self: don't forget the hiking backpack for Alyssa next time) She ended up in the stroller on a very bumpy trail. Not so great but we stopped along the way and took a few cute pictures of Alyssa.

We found the Payette Lake and spent an hour or so sitting by it. We ate some lunch and enjoyed the view. It was gorgeous!!

My two most favorite people in the whole world!!

The drive home was a long windy road along the river and it was so pretty. We stopped during the heavy rain and took some pictures.

We had a great time. Next time there will be a little more planning involved but it was nice to spend time together and see a gorgeous part of Idaho!!
