After a crazy few days of packing, cleaning and more cleaning, we started our journey to Illinois. We spent Tuesday night at Eric's parents house in Boise Idaho. Wednesday morning we headed off to Utah to spend the evening and night with my family. We stopped in Twin Falls to have lunch with awesome friends and then we stopped again in Lehi to spend more time with awesome friends. We had such a great time in Utah with my family. It was so fun to see them again. Then Thursday morning we headed off on our journey. We first went through Wyoming. I tried to get a picture of the sign in Wyoming but it didn't work out. What I did get some pictures of where the Windmills that filled the mountain as we went over another mountain. It was amazing and cool to see.
We stayed the night in Cheyenne, WY. It was HORRIBLE!! It was so stinking windy and we lost some of our food and CD's because the wind took them away. Wyoming is a boring state to drive through and very windy. We didn't enjoy Wyoming very much but hey, we weren't going to stop and see anything.
The next morning, being friday morning we drove through Nebraska. It was just as boring and windy as Wyoming but more trees.
The cool thing was there were SO MANY birds in Nebraska. They were everywhere and it was so cool. Alyssa loved seeing the birds.
Nebraska is also the home to Cabelas sporting store. The world headquarters were in Nebraska with nothing around it. I wonder where all the workers lived??
Nebraska also had a monument bridge but we couldn't find away to get inside and go across the bridge. That was a very quick look as we drove by at 85 miles per hour.
Alyssa was surrounded by all her toys and the food and anything else we could fit back there. She was such a trooper and did SO WELL on the drive. It was a good thing for DVD players and Dum Dum's. Saved us!!
We spent Friday night in Nebraska City, Nebraska and went to dinner at a small little Buffet called Valentinos. It was quaint but not healthy for you at all. Oh, and no restaurants in the midwest or east sell Tomatoes due to the weather issues in Florida and how they destroyed all the tomato crops.

Saturday we drove through Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri and Illinois. We made it in 4 states in one day. It was crazy.
We drove down Highway 2 which was the Mormon Pioneer trail. I saw places that reminded me of the movie Legacy and it really brought it home for me. It was really sobering.
Just before we hit Missouri we drove through a town called Moulton. I thought I'd take this picture for a friend, Heidi who's maiden name is Moulton.
Missouri was a great state, I'm sure. We didn't see much because it was raining and then it was dark but we stopped in Kirksville to have a late lunch with some friends from college. It was so fun to stop by and see them. Alyssa and their daughters played for a while.
We did see some Amish/Mennanite people which was interesting. They were driving their horse drawn carriages.
Then at about 7:00pm we hit the border of Missouri and Illinois. We drove over the Mississippi River which Eric hadn't seen since his mission. It was really cool for him. It is a HUGE river.
We arrived at our hotel at 8:30pm and we have finally reached our destination. On Tuesday we go house hunting. Eric starts his new job on the 22nd. We are super excited about this new adventure. We are so glad that the driving is over.

ahh thanks for the picture just for me that was great. My In-laws live in Cheyenne, it is always windy when we visit. A very boring state to drive thru. I have been to that Cabela's and have picture of that bridge in Nebraska. Happy house hunting.
