Lincoln's Museum and Home

We walked through Downtown Springfield and it is filled with Abraham Lincoln memorials. We first went to the old Capital building and then we headed out for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum.
The museum was awesome. There was no flash photography anywhere except for with this family and in the childrens area. Here we are with the Lincoln family. The Lincoln's had 4 boys, 1 passed away at the age of 4, then 1 passed away when he was 12 and then another passed away at 18. Only one survived to adulthood and he lived till he was 82. The last living direct desendant of the Abraham Lincoln passed away in 1985.

We played for a long time in Mrs Lincoln's attic. This was the childrens' area and Alyssa loved it. Here she loved playing with the dog. She is so funny when it comes to dogs.
This is an exact replica of the Lincoln's home. Alyssa loved re-arranging their furniture. She tried, at one point, to sit on the chairs. They were a little small for her but it was so cute.

Dressing up in clothes from that time period. Isn't Alyssa so cute??

This is Abraham Lincoln's home. We took a tour of it. It was really beautiful and quite large. They had 5 bedrooms and NO BATHROOMS - they had 3 toilets in the outhouse. Luckily there was only Mrs. Lincoln as the only female in the house.

Inside the Lincoln's home.

These are homes in Lincoln's neighborhood. They blocked off 4 blocks and kept everything the same as it was in those days. It was really cool.

This cat sat right outside and sat there trying to poop for a long time. It was hilarious.
Lincoln's Home!!
It was really nice to go and visit downtown Springfield. We still have much more to see of Lincoln's Memorials. Luckily we have plenty of time!!
