For the first 3 months of his life we tried and tried to get Mason to take a pacifier but to no avail. He was just fine without one. Then one day he found his thumb. He loves his thumb and it is so cute to see him suck it. The problem is that he is a very LOUD thumbsucker and it isn't really soothing for him. He just likes it so it doesn't work well for us at night time. And he is still being swaddled at night because he can't control his arm movements yet and wakes himself up. So we decided to try a pacifier and guess what?? HE LOVES IT!!! I'm so excited. He still only needs it to get to sleep, if he isn't nursing, but then he's done. WAHOO!!!!

The other problem came when he was not eating much and arching his back. He has always been more of a fussy baby but we thought he'd grow out of it, well he hasn't and we were getting concerned so we went to the doctor. We found out that he has reflux and we got him on some baby zantac and he is much happier. He is sleeping longer, not much but still longer and he now talks and talks and talks instead of whine, groan and complain. I feel so bad that it took me so long to figure it out but now that we have, I hope that he'll be much healthier and happier.
