We travelled up to Seaside for a night to celebrate Eric's 33rd Birthday. It was a fun trip. On Wednesday, the weather was a little chilly, some rain but over cast clouds. Mostly what you would expect from the Oregon coast. That night we headed out to dinner and they all (except me) swam in the pool at the hotel. Then we tried to put the the kids to bed.
Luckily we had a balcony so Eric and I sat out on the balcony while we waited for the kids to go to sleep. It took a couple of hours because they were having too much fun but it was good to see them so happy.
As Eric and I were on the balcony, it started to rain. It got cold so we got a nice blanket. It was so nice out there though. We could see the ocean and hear the waves, it was so relaxing. If it wasn't so cold, I would have stayed out there all night.
The next day was so nice and warm. We got up and swam in the pool. Then we got ready and headed out to see seaside. We asked the kids what they wanted to do and Alyssa said she just wanted to play on the beach so we got the kite and buckets and had a great time.
We fed this seagull as it perched on our balcony. This was also the view from our balcony - so perfect!!
We rented a 4 person Surrey (what they call it) and we rode around for just a little bit. Mason didn't like it at all. We bought salt water taffy (because you can't leave the coast without it) and we went back to the beach without our stuff and the kids had a blast again.
We left seaside early in the afternoon and the kids slept the whole almost 3 hour drive home. It was an awesome trip.
