I've been looking forward to this summer for almost two years now. Last summer was a wash when we welcomed little Tyler into the family at the beginning and I had sleepless nights for the rest of it. I made a promise to myself and my kids that next summer would be way better and here we are. We have made it a goal to go hiking every week this summer and so here is Hike #1. We visited Silver Falls which is about 30 minutes away from us. It was a beautiful drive up. We only did one small trail because I didn't know what the kids could handle but they were awesome and loved it. No arguing either, I could get used to this.

On the way down and up Alyssa found every possible log, stick and rock to sit on to get a picture of herself with her brother.

We were able to walk underneath the falls but I guess the pictures didn't turn out from that. It made us all very wet but it was fun and the kids were squealing with delight.

We found many bridges and across one of them was this gorgeous wide open space with picnic tables and pavilions. We planted ourselves down on the grass and had a little picnic. The kids had a blast just running around and playing. I went snap-happy with the camera!!
