Alyssa had her "Lego Friends" birthday party last Saturday, September 27th. When she first asked for a Lego Friends birthday party I thought it would be awesome and then I realized how little lego friends stuff is out there for anything other than building legos. So I went to town on Pinterest and Google. Still didn't find much. So I did it mostly by myself.
I made the signs, backdrop, games, decorations and especially the cake!!! The friends all loved the birthday party but what was most important was that my sweet little 6 year old loved it!! I still can't believe my firstborn is 6 years old - going on 16 mind you!!
We started out the party with coloring pages. Something easy to do while we wait for the guests to all arrive. When they had finished, we hung their pictures up and let them take them home.
Then we built Lego bracelets using real Legos but I forgot to take a picture of that one. It was really cute, fast and simple but they loved it. Then when they get done with their bracelets, they can then use the Legos like you are supposed to :)
Then we played a couple of Lego games. We gave each of the girls a cup with some legos in it. Then I timed them to see how many Lego's you could get out of the cup with chopsticks. I gave them 3 minutes and the winner got a little Lego toy.
Then they could use that same cup of Legos and build a large tower. They loved this activity and it kept them quiet for a while which was good for a group of girls.
After that, I used my Silhouette Cameo and created Lego figures out of paper. The girls dressed them with whatever they wanted to. I made shirts, skirts, pants, shoes, hair and then gave them glitter glue to decorate their finished products. They also had pencils to make the eyes, nose and mouths. They had a great time with this activity!!
This is what I created and the final product. The girls had a blast!!!!
Then we played my all time favorite party game that I played growing up in Australia. Pass the Parcel!!! Wrap up a toy (Legos in this case) and wrap it up with more than as many layers as there are going to be guests. In each layer I stuck a treat (Lollipop). Have all the guests sit in a circle to pass the present / parcel. Play music and when the music stops, the person who had the present in their hands got to unwrap one layer. Keep going till everyone gets to open a layer and get their treat.
When everyone has their treat, keep going until all the layers have been removed. The last person gets the final present.
CAKE TIME
I created a Lego cake, it is Olivia's House. It was a fun project, my favorite part of the party.
After the cake we opened presents. I took a picture of the birthday girl with each of their guests as she opened the presents. As part of the thank you card, I printed off that picture and gave it to the guests.
I also made Lego hair clips for the favor bags.
More of the lego cake!!!
Happy Birthday to my beautiful princess!!
